Sheet 02 · Apps
One job per app, done properly
Every app here is a full Mac app, not a demo. Pick one, read what it does and what it doesn't, then download it or build it.
2Password
Passwords and API keys
Passwords and API keys in one encrypted file on your Mac.
ScreenShare
Screen recording
Record screen and camera, then trim, caption and export on your Mac.
LogoForge
Logo design
A vector logo designer with live effects, 3D and batch export.
DirCompare
Folder compare and sync
Compare two folders side by side and sync them on your terms.
Reisekosten
Travel expenses (Germany)
Travel expense reports under German tax rules, as a Mac app.
Sheet 03 · The line
How an app gets made
Four stations, the same for every app. Speed comes from doing the same steps every time, with the checks built in.
- 01
Brief
A one-page spec: the tool we want on our own Macs, and the list of features it has to match before it counts as done.
- 02
Build
Swift with SwiftUI and AppKit, or Node for the 2Password CLI. Written with AI coding agents, steered and checked by a developer.
- 03
Test
Core logic sits in a module with no UI and its own tests. LogoForge renders its samples in a headless self-test instead.
- 04
Ship
A release script zips the app, writes its SHA-256 and drafts a GitHub release. This site picks it up within the hour.
Sheet 04 · Spec
What every app on the line has in common
Your data stays on your Mac
Vaults, recordings, logos and trips are files on your disk. Cloud features such as transcription stay off until you add your own key.
No account, no telemetry
We checked the source of every app for network calls. Each one belongs to a feature you switch on, and each app page lists them.
MIT license
Use the apps, change them, ship your own version. Keep the copyright notice, that is the whole condition.
One script to build
Clone the repo, run the build script, get the .app. Apple's Command Line Tools are enough for most of them.

Why macOS stops our apps on first launch, and how to open them
Our Mac apps are ad-hoc signed and not notarized, so macOS blocks the first launch once. What that signature means, how to open the app and how to check your download.

What happens to a screen recording when the Mac crashes
A recording that dies with the app is worse than no recording at all. Why ScreenShare writes two-second fragments, saves its state every five seconds and keeps the camera apart.

Commit the reference, keep the secret in the vault
A plaintext .env file is one careless git add away from a leaked API key. Here is how a committed file of references works instead, and where its protection stops.
Pick a tool and take it home
Downloads come straight from GitHub Releases. If you would rather compile it yourself, every repo builds with one script.
