Sheet 07
About the factory
Prompt Software is the app line of dionics, a small software studio in Burgdorf near Hanover. We build the Mac tools we want to use ourselves and publish the source.
01
Why a factory
A factory is a process you repeat until it is boring. Brief, build, test, ship, the same way each time. The repetition is what lets a small team put out a new app in days instead of quarters.
02
Why AI agents
The code is written with AI coding agents. A developer writes the brief, reads the diff, runs the app and decides what ships. The agents type; the judgement stays human.
03
Why give it away
Most of these tools exist as paid apps already. Ours are free, and you can read every line, so you can check for yourself what a password manager does with your passwords.
04
Why .si
Because prompt-software.si was short and free. The site is run from Germany by dionics media UG, and the imprint has the details.
- 01
Brief
A one-page spec: the tool we want on our own Macs, and the list of features it has to match before it counts as done.
- 02
Build
Swift with SwiftUI and AppKit, or Node for the 2Password CLI. Written with AI coding agents, steered and checked by a developer.
- 03
Test
Core logic sits in a module with no UI and its own tests. LogoForge renders its samples in a headless self-test instead.
- 04
Ship
A release script zips the app, writes its SHA-256 and drafts a GitHub release. This site picks it up within the hour.
