Copy your own MP3, M4A, WAV and AIFF files to your iPhone and play them offline.

PromptMP3 imports audio files from the Files app into a private library on your iPhone. Playback never needs a connection. Search by title, artist or album, control playback from the lock screen and pick one of three themes.

What it does

  • Import from Files

    Pick MP3, M4A, WAV or AIFF files in Files and PromptMP3 copies them into its library. Deleting a song removes only that copy; the original stays in Files.

  • Search that ignores accents

    Find songs by title, artist or album, typed with or without accents. Sort the library by title, artist or import date.

  • Lock-screen controls

    Play, pause, skip and seek from the lock screen while music plays in the background. Unplugging your headphones pauses playback.

  • Full player

    Seek through a song, shuffle, repeat and choose the audio output from one screen.

  • Three themes with high contrast

    Midnight, Paper and Studio keep text contrast between 15.3:1 and 17.9:1. Your choice stays after a restart.

  • Checked with 10,000 tracks

    We tested the library with 10,000 tracks and the layout at the largest accessibility text size. VoiceOver labels were checked on a physical iPhone.

Good to know

  • PromptMP3 plays only the files you import, in MP3, M4A, WAV or AIFF format.
  • It runs on iPhone in portrait orientation. There is no iPad version.
