Licence agreement (EULA)

What a Prompt Software licence lets you do. The licensor is dionics media UG (haftungsbeschränkt).

Last updated: 29 October 2026

The German version of this agreement is the legally binding one. This translation is a reading aid.

1. Scope

This agreement covers every Prompt Software product you unlock with a licence key, including updates within the major version. Without a key you may use the software as a demo, without time limit.

2. Your right of use

Buying a licence gives you a non-exclusive right, with no time limit, to use the licensed product for private and commercial work. The licence may be active on up to two computers that you use yourself at the same time.

For plug-ins, the licence covers every format of the product (such as AU, VST3 and the standalone app) on those computers.

What you make with the software, such as music, graphics or text, belongs to you.

3. Activation

To activate, the software sends the licence key, the product id, a machine id, the computer's name, the macOS version and the app version to our licence server. The machine id is a one-way hash of the hardware id; the hardware id itself never leaves your computer.

Without an internet connection you can activate offline: the software shows a request code, you enter it on our licence page, and you import the licence file you get back.

When the computer is online, the software checks about every 30 days that the licence is still valid. Without a connection it keeps running indefinitely. Only an explicit answer from our server that the licence is revoked ends the activation.

4. Moving to another computer

You can release a computer at any time in the software or on our licence page, then activate the licence on another one.

5. Transfer

You may pass the licence on to another person for good if you stop using the software on all your computers and tell us by email. Renting and lending are not allowed. (Draft, decision pending.)

6. Restrictions

You may not get around the activation, publish licence keys or licence files, or decompile or modify the software, except where the law (in particular section 69e of the German Copyright Act) expressly allows it.

7. Third-party components

Some products contain third-party components under their own licences. The notices are in each product's About window.

8. Revocation

We revoke a licence only if the price was refunded or charged back, or if you seriously breach this agreement, for example by publishing the key.

9. Defects and liability

The rules in our terms of sale apply.
