Spacewalk
See what fills your Mac's disk, then clear out large files one card at a time
Spacewalk scans a folder or the whole disk and draws the result as a treemap. Four panes take you from the capacity bar to a card-by-card review of large files, old downloads and apps. Files you swipe away go to the Trash, so you can still get them back.

What it does
Used, purgeable and free space
Overview splits the disk into used, purgeable and free space. Below the bar it lists the biggest folders and files from your last scan.
A treemap for any folder
Explore shows a drill-down treemap next to a sorted list. Right-click an item to reveal it in Finder, open it or move it to the Trash.
14 cleanup targets in three groups
They cover caches, logs, Xcode DerivedData, package-manager caches, device backups and old downloads. Any node_modules and virtualenv folders the scan finds come up for review too.
Review large files with the arrow keys
Files of 100 MB and up, downloads older than 30 days and apps appear as cards. Left arrow deletes, right arrow keeps, space opens Quick Look and Cmd-Z undoes.
Swiped files land in the Trash
Only caches that rebuild themselves are deleted permanently, and only after you confirm. Spacewalk remembers the items you kept for your next session.
Each byte counted once
The scanner runs on all cores and counts allocated bytes. It counts hard-linked files once and skips other volumes and firmlink views, so a whole-disk scan does not double count.
Good to know
- Caches that rebuild themselves are deleted permanently after your confirmation. They skip the Trash.
- Without Full Disk Access the scanner cannot see every folder, and the totals come out incomplete.
System requirements
- macOS 14 or later
- Apple silicon or Intel Mac
- Full Disk Access, recommended for complete scan results
