Brightfall

Three oscillators with 10-voice unison, 15 filter types and a 16-step stereo trance gate

Brightfall is a virtual analog synth with three oscillators, each stacking up to 10 detuned unison voices. A 16-step trance gate with separate left and right patterns locks to your host's song position. Delay, reverb, distortion, an arpeggiator and 77 factory presets are built in.

What it does

  • 41 waves per oscillator

All 41 waves are band-limited. On a 2.6 kHz saw, aliasing stays more than 85 dB down.

  • Unison with analog drift

Each oscillator plays 1 to 10 unison voices with detune and drift. Polyphony runs from 1 to 32 voices.

  • 15 filter types

Low- and high-pass at 6, 12, 18 and 24 dB, band-pass, notch, peak, a vowel formant filter and 24 dB ladder modes.

  • A stereo trance gate

16 steps with separate left and right patterns, synced to the host's song position at speeds from 1/4 to 1/64.

  • Arpeggiator and modulation

8 arp modes including chord, 1 to 4 octaves and hold. 3 LFOs with 7 waves sync from 8/1 to 1/64, and 3 ADSR envelopes take bipolar amounts.

  • A preset librarian you can search

Three columns with search as you type, favourites, history and a count per category. The interface scales from 50 % to 200 % and has multi-step undo.
