What it does

  • Opens 10 tab and notation formats

Load .gp3, .gp4, .gp5, .gpx and .gp tab files, MusicXML, MIDI, ASCII tab, ChordPro or alphaTex.

  • Speed control, loops and count-in

Slow a song down, loop one passage and get a count-in before each pass. The player follows repeats, alternate endings, tempo changes and swing.

  • Tuner and play-along scoring

Strumwell listens through your Mac's microphone. It tunes your guitar and scores your playing while you follow a song.

  • 46 chord types, 51 scales, 34 tunings

The chord identifier names a chord from its notes, and the voicing generator shows other ways to play it on the neck.

  • Six trainers and ten tools

Train your ear, perfect pitch, fretboard notes, note reading, rhythm and theory. The metronome adds accents, subdivisions, swing, a speed trainer and gap training.

  • Guitar sound with bends and slides

Built-in plucked-string synthesis plays bends, slides and palm mutes over a drum kit. You can switch to the General MIDI sounds in macOS or your own SoundFont or DLS bank.

Good to know

  • The built-in library holds 29 songs. Everything else comes from tab files you open.

System requirements
